This was originally part of a novel I was writing that included the main character of Derek, from my other short story. I realized that this didn't really make sense in the context of the book, so I decided to take it out of the book, fix it up so it makes sense out of context, and see what you guys think of it. Enjoy.

About five years ago, I met a man by the name of Michael Carpenter. He told me that he had founded a business called Carpenter & _______ Inc. There’s a space there because Michael wanted a business partner to help him with the paperwork and shit. He asked me if I wanted to be that business partner.
I said yes.
I went with Michael to his office, and all of a sudden he looked down at the ground. There was something in the corner of the room. At first, I couldn’t really tell what it was. It was in a sort of oval shape, and it was as black as coal. I looked over at Michael, and he looked at this weird black thing as if he had seen a ghost.
Then it started moving.
As it started crawling over to our side of the room, I slowly began to realize. It was a cockroach.
Personally, I am not afraid of cockroaches. Neither was my mother. She said that cockroaches are sent down from God to test people. To see if you are strong. Contrary to what you may think, she said, if you step on a cockroach, you are weak, and if you let it walk, you are strong.
To this day, I had no idea what she meant, but in the current situation, what Michael Carpenter was about to do was most probably a sign of weakness.
As the helpless little cockroach was crawling its way over to us, Michael picked up his foot, and slammed it right on top of the poor little insect. “FUCK OFF!!” he said. I distinctly remember him saying fuck off to the cockroach carcass under his shoe.
If you think about it, fuck off is not an appropriate thing to say to a dead cockroach. By saying fuck off, you are implying that you want the dead cockroach to go somewhere else. Well of course it can’t go somewhere else, because he just stepped on it. So basically, fuck off is definitely not the proper thing to say to a dead cockroach.
In fact, there isn’t really any appropriate comment to say to a dead cockroach. I mean, what can you say.
“Hey! How’s it going down there, you know. Under my foot. Is it nice down there?”
I think that the main point that I took from this experience is that Michael Carpenter does NOT like cockroaches. And I have never asked him why.
And he has very hard shoes.

This was good. I liked that it was simple, yet it was complete: beginning, middle, and end. Also, the description is sufficient for the story. It's a simple story; you don't need to go into detail about the peeling off-white drywall or the color of someone's tie. If you went into more detail, it would take away from the overall whatever of the story.
One thing I wonder about is that the MC met Mr. Carpenter five years ago. Did he immediately enter into the business? Personally I would do some checking on the person or get to know him better before I would enter a business partnership with him.
Seems...odd to me. Not the idea, the sentence. Maybe you could say something like,
'Michael wanted it to be Carpenter and Smith. When he told me that, I was like, okay...But then I remembered that my last name is Smith.' (Just an example. You don't have to do it that away but it sounds cool to me.)
I liked the part where the narrator gets into a monologue-type thing about saying curse words to a cockroach. Quite hilarious. As with your other works, it made me laugh out loud.
Drowsy! [I can't help call you by it instead of Kaye. -_-]
Id love to talk to you.]
I hate you for being so fascinating. I mean your work, it's fascinating. -_-
Lol, down to the real deal...
I LOVE IT! I didn't find much sense in it as i did analyzing The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time, but alas it was my favorite book.
I LOVE IT! The grammar, the sentence, wording overall, are perfect. It's beautifully absurd but dramatically proper.
I LOVE IT! So be sure to tell me about your future works.......
I LOVE IT! and I'm sure you do too.
tata for now. kudos!

A very interesting little piece, and one of the few short pieces I have seen that is good as is without any expounding. Very good.
Yay - I liked this. It was clever and slightly random in a pleasing way.
I only found one rough spot that I know you could improve...
"I went with Michael to his office, and all of a sudden he looked down at the ground." This sounds like the moment you met him you followed him to his office, wherever that might be. Say something more like, "When I eventually made it around to his office the first thing I noticed was that he was fixated with something on the ground." Obviously you don't have to use that exact sentence but something a little more precise would be more desirable.
I quite like your writing if only because of how unique it is. I grow weary of reading stories about endless highschool drama and so I thank you for thinking up something new.
Oh, your ratio of posts:reviews is still off. So go and review my chaptered story to fix that. AND because I can't seem to get any good reviews for it. But also keep posting because I want to read more of your stuff.
